The DC04 features a dual DAC chipset housing two CS43131 high-performance DAC chips from Cirrus Logics. These high-performance DAC chips offer outstanding sound clarity output with ultra-low distortion and a clean noise-free background. The DAC chips are arranged in a balanced architecture(one for each channel) to provide the best experience to its users.
The DC04 houses a 4.4mm fully balanced headphone jack. It supports the latest Japanese Pentaconn 4.4mm headphone plugs which are more reliable and sturdy as compared to the traditional 2.5mm and 3.5mm plugs. You can utilize the DC04 with your high-end IEMs and Headphones with 4.4mm termination.
The iBasso DC04 has a lot of output power to drive your headphones and IEMs with ease. It has an output power rating of 195mW @ 32Ω of load. At 300Ω of load, the DC04 has an output power rating of 4Vrms. The output has a clean background with a high Signal to Noise Ratio of 133dB.
The DC04 has humongous output power(4Vrms at 300Ω), iBasso has written a custom application to allow precise volume adjustment on the DC04. The application has up to 64 levels of volume adjustment. With an ultra-low output impedance of just 0.12Ω and precise volume adjustment, the DC04 can be used with sensitive Headphones and IEMs too.
